The BOSS™ system is produced from a body casting of the patient in an upright casting frame called a “Kiss Simulator.” The seat consists of a Kydex® superstructure, which is padded with pressure sensitive foam and covered in neoprene and vinyl. The BOSS™ can be utilized in lightweight manual and tilt-in-space wheelchairs. Each system comes standard with a mobility base and Transit Option Brackets. Removable neoprene covers, including the seat cover, can be machine-washed and air-dried. Additional seat covers may be purchased at a minimal cost. All materials are latex free.
Indications: · Head and neck hyperextension · Thoracic and pelvic rotation · Sacral sitting · Ischial obliquity · Anterior and posterior pelvic tilting · Plantar, or dorsi flexed, or severely pronated feet
Positional Gains: · Significant improvement in patient’s overall skeletal alignment resulting in improved posture and internal organ functioning. Also assists in patient’s breathing efficiency, swallowing and chewing of food. · Forces the patient’s femurs and feet to bear weight creating a better base for support.
Delivery: The delivery of your BOSS™ Seating System typically takes place over a three-stage appointment process that can take several weeks from initial casting and measurement to final delivery. |
